We need this drive to not only backup our family laptop but also to use in Seagate's new Home Theater system coming this March. My daughter who loves to watch her Disney movies repeatly leaves the DVDs out of their cases, causing them to get scratched.

I also lost pictures but it was because of a corrupted external hard drive, which I trusted more than my desktop's hard drive or my laptop's hard drive apparently. If I win I will use it myself, back up my beloved photos, but still keep them on the original drive. IF the drive works well for me I will crow about it to everyone I know. Please pick me!

I want (need) this drive because last fall I dropped a blender -- yes, a BLENDER that you make milkshakes/margaritas in -- on our laptop and broke the hard drive. So we lost all of our data... the worst part are the pictures we downloaded and lost forever because I hadn't uploaded them to get them printed! So we have a new hard drive on our laptop, and you think I would have bought an external hard drive and started saving data so this doesn't happen again. But I haven't yet. So this Seagate Freeagent portable hard drive would be perfect for me! (and make my hubby very happy too!)

I want this drive because I do videography and always need external hard drives. I currently have two. It's for me! And i don't really have a backup set up. Which is really, really stupid, I know.

I want this drive because I'm always fearful of losing my data. This would definitely be for me and would give me the piece of mind of continuing to back everything up. I do have an external backup in place but my drive is almost full and I'm definitely in need of another one! Especially the red one! I love red! Thanks for the giveaway!

I just used CDs and DVDs to back up. This would be awesome for me, me, me! Well, actually my entire family would benefit from it. It would be especially nice to know all our photos and videos were backed up.

I want this drive because over the summer, my laptop hard drive crashed and I lost everything. I had an external drive that I had been backing things up to -- until something went haywire with its cables, or the port, or something... for some reason, my computer didn't recognize it, and I didn't hurry to fix it. So I ended up losing a few months' worth of data.

Now, I'm getting error messages when I try to use the second-hand external drive my husband gave me after he upgraded. I'd love a new pretty pink one that I can use w/o worrying -- I'm back where I was before, where I'm not backing up any longer.

I want this drive because it's a pretty red that matches my laptop.

It would be for me, but really my whole family benefits because that's money that I would otherwise be spending for a hard drive - I can take them all out for ice cream, the good expensive mixed-on-a-slab kind.

I don't have just one back-up system in place, I have a dozen. I slap stuff onto discs and lose them, I put them on flash drives and then lend them to people thinking they're empty, I upload pictures and videos to sites in the internet netherworld that promise to keep me organized and then I forget I joined them. I put sticky notes on my laptop reminding me to back up and then use the notes to throw away my gum. And worst of all, I shake my head and purse my lips when other people tell me that they don't back up. If only they knew the truth, I'm so disorganized! I'm worse than they are!
